Our Life Together

We are the husband and wife team behind Amy Lee Illustration. Amy is the right-brained illustrator that creates all the artwork, and John is the left-brained engineer that keeps the train on its tracks.

On paper our personalities couldn’t be more opposite, but in life and this wonderful business we are the perfect complement to each other. We truly believe marriage is the greatest institution on earth and we’re hopeless romantics, honored to play a part in the beginning of your own marriage journey.

One of our favorite things about this business is being able to work together, so you’ll get to see both of us at your wedding. Although John would like to heartily emphasize that he definitely will not be doing any drawing – in fact, that would be his worst nightmare. But he loves chatting with the guests as they’re being drawn and helping behind the scenes.

Meet Amy

As written by John

Amy’s more than an artist, she’s kind, loving and devoted. She’s the kind of woman that always goes the extra mile. I love watching her creative process - just when you think she’s finished she’ll add one more flourish that you didn’t even know the piece needed.

Every illustration I get to watch her make boggles my mind, being the left-brained type that I am. With Amy at your event, you’ll be able to relax with the confidence that your guests will be entertained and walk away with a memory they’ll cherish.

She’s a Texas wildflower raised in Oklahoma, and her southern charm and kind manner will put you right at ease. She’s a faith filled woman that’s confident in her beliefs and skills. She’ll be a blessing in any atmosphere and capture your heart with her art.

Meet John

As written by Amy

John is the logical, process loving, problem-solving brain behind Amy Lee Illustration. He’s the ever-present calming force on a wedding day, chatting with guests as they’re being drawn or keeping my supplies organized as I’m flying through drawings. He’s constantly pushing me out of my comfort zone and encouraging all my new business ideas.

He’s an engineer by trade and we’ve laughed at the transformation he’s made in the wedding industry. When we were engaged he didn’t want to attend wedding shows with me, which is proof that God has a sense of humor because now he attends weddings, wedding shows, wedding open houses and anything else wedding related that you can imagine. He has the greatest attitude and is the best partner I could ask for.

John is originally from Jackson, Mississippi and is the epitome of a Southern gentleman. He’s gracious, confident and a strong shoulder to lean on. He serves God with great passion and is one of the hardest workers I know. He’s such a blessing to me and many others.
